Lichtblicke
Light and shadow are essential conditions for the spatial perception, spatial effect and representation. In many contexts, light is the design basis for architecture. In this semester, the seminar enabled the students to follow up with light and shadow, which are inextricably linked and were thematized from different aspects. We discovered some connections through analysis of examples of art and architecture.
The focus of the discussion was, among other things, the relationship between object and projection, space and light, light and perception, light and time, the course of light and shading studies, light filters and shadow theater, reflection and refraction of light.
These were just a few of the possible topics for dealing with the geometry of light, which should also include physical and perceptual psychological aspects. The students could set their own priorities.
The theoretical analysis of the topic formed the basis for the practical and creative implementation in design experiments on light and shadow.
